TWO HOLY QURANS OF MUGHAL PERIOD RECOVERED

The Crime Branch has arrested three persons in an attempt to sell the Holy Qurans at the value of Rs. 5 crores. The recovered Holy Qurans pertains to Mughal period. Most of the scriptures were written in golden letters. The recovered Holy Qurans are rarely found anywhere in the country. It is very difficult to make any assessment of their real international value.

Details of the accused persons arrested are:

1. Gurdeep Singh, 48 years of Green Park, Delhi

Sanjay Nathani, 41 years of Kailash Puri, Palam, Delhi
Prasanjit Biswas @ Partha, 33 years of Palam Nagar, Kailash Puri Extension, Sagar Pur, Delhi.

Thieves arrested: Chandni Chawk Police arrested one Satish 29 years, R/o Jwahar Nagar Sonepat yesterday. According to DCP/North office one Wasiuddin R/o Gali Anar wali parked his Toyota Qualis car in Gandhi ground yesterday. When he came to take his car in the evening he found that accused was trying to flee after stealing his car’s C.D. player. The accused was caught and handed over to police. Stolen CD player , one screw driver and one playar have been recovered from his possession . Further investigation is on.
In another case Chandni Chawk police arrested one Rahul 20 year, R/o Krawal Nagar yesterday evening. According to DCP/North office accused used to work at ladies suits shop at Chandni Chawk owned by one Sheshav Gupta R/o Shalimar Bagh . Yesterday evening when accused was leaving the shop for his home, the guard of the shop told the owner that the accused had hidden a suit in his Tiffin. The suit is costing to rupees about 6200/-. He was handed over to police and suit was recovered from his possession. Further investigation is on.
Roop Nagar police arrested one Neeraj 32 years, R/o New Chandrawal Road yesterday. According to DCP/North office the brother of complainant Jaswant sing R/o Jawahar Nagar Roop Nagar parked his car out side of his house. When the complainant came to check the car he found that accused was stealing C.D. player for the car. He was caught and handed over to police and recovered stolen CD player from his possession . Further investigation is on.
Suicide: One girl Poonam 17years D/o Jitinder advocate R/o L.I.G. flats Loni Road Shahdara, committed suicide by hanging herself in her study room. According to DCP/ North East she was the student of 12th standard and stated to be weak in Maths. Further investigation is on.

Robber arrested:   Sarai Rohilla police arrested one Abid 22 years, R/o Laxmi Nagar Shakarpur Delhi from Shiv Mandir near bus stop Dayabasti yesterday.  According to DCP/North office the accused was arrested on a tip off by S.I.Rajesh Malhotra and Hc Rawat and recovered a knife from his possession.   On interrogation he confessed that he committed a robbery of Rs. 15000/- at knife point on 4-3- 2008 in the area of P.S. Shakarpur Delhi.  Further investigation is one.

 
In another case Sarai Rohila police arrested one Sunil 32 years, R/o Dayabasti Delhi from Old Rohtak Road yesterday evening.  Const. Brij Mohan arrested the accused while he was carrying 10 bottles of illicit liquor in a white color gunny bag.
 
P.O. arrested :  Lahori Gate police arrested one Sandip 30 years, R/o Mandawli near Tis Hazari Court yesterday. According to DCP/North office accused was declared proclaimed offender on 13-02-2008, by a local court in a case of excise act of P.S. Kotwali of 2002.
 
In another case Chandni chowk police arrested one Dalip 35 years, R/o vagabond of Bankhandi Mandir Chandni Chowk  from Old Delhi Railway Station yesterday.  The accused was declared proclaimed offender on 22-2-2008, by a local court in a case of Arms Act of P.S. Chandni Chowk of 2005

INTER-STATE GANG OF AUTO LIFTERS ARRESTED : 8 STOLEN LUXURY VEHICLES RECOVERED.

 

INTRODUCTION

            With the arrest of three persons namely I) Mohd Azam @ Kallu, aged 38 years, S/o Abdul Wahid, r/o Preet Vihar, Delhi, ii) Hakimuddin Khan, aged 43 years s/o Kamruddin Khan r/o North Ghonda, Delhi and iii) Khalil Ahmed, aged 67 years, s/o Abdul Zabbar, r/o Lisari Road, Meerut, U.P., the South District has busted a gang of inter-state auto lifters and recovered 8 luxury cars including 3 Scorpio, 1 Qualis, 1 Hyundai Verna, 1 Indica car, 1 Maruti Zen and 1 Maruti van from their possession.  The Police team also recovered the implements used to open the vehicles like screwdriver, drill machine etc. 
 
INCIDENT & TEAM :
            During the recent past it was observed that there is spurt in theft of luxury vehicles. To stop the growing incidents of auto lifting, especially luxury vehicles, the Police team of AATS/South District was asked to look into the matter and to bust the gang involved in such crime.  The Police team comprising of SI Sureender Dahiya, HCs Vinod Kumar, Pramod Kumar,  Washik Ahmed, Abdul Hakim, Cts. Shailender, Subhash, Brahampal, A. Rehman, Tulsi and Yogender led by Inspr. Vijay Singh, I/C AATS/SD and under the supervision of Sh. K.S. Bhatnagar, ACP/Ops./SD was formed to nab the criminals/gangs. The team developed information and deployed sources to nab the auto lifters, active in the area.   On 6.2.08 a  secret information was received to the Police team that some auto-lifters would come in the area of Lajpat Nagar in a stolen Hyundai Verna car to lift another vehicle from the area.  Accordingly Police team established special pickets checking by putting barricades on the roads leading to Lajpat Nagar.  During the process Police team apprehended a Hyundai Verna car No. HR-043-B-6401 near Lalsai Market, Lajpat Nagar, in which above mentioned three accused were found sitting.   On checking of papers of the car it is found that the registration number of the car is the fake one. On further enquiry by the police team it is revealed that said car was stolen by the accused from the area of Lajpat Nagar on 28.12.07. Accordingly they all three were arrested in the above said case of vehicle theft and after producing them before the court 3 days Police Custody was obtained.
 

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPEANDI

            During the course of sustained interrogation in police custody remand it is revealed that accused Hakimuddin Khan is the gang leader who is basically a Kabbari having base in the area of  Mustafabad, North-East Delhi.  He used to purchase totally condemned or total lost accidental vehicles with original papers from different insurance companies.  After getting the papers and the condemned vehicles he used to sell the condemned vehicles in the scrap market and as per the papers he used to order Mohd. Azam @ Kallu to bring the same type/make stolen vehicles.  As soon as he gets order he used to  lift the vehicles as per order from the different areas of Delhi and NCR as per his convenience. After getting delivery of stolen vehicle from Mohd. Azam @ Kallu, Hakimuddin Khan calls Khalil Ahmed to change the Engine and Chassis number of the stolen vehicles as per the papers already obtained by Hakimuddin from the insurance agencies.  After this Hakimuddin Khan used to dispose the vehicles in open market in Delhi as well as in the area of Soti Gunj, Meerut U.P.   On their further interrogation and disclosure the Police team recovered 3 Scorpio, 1 Qualis, 1 Indica car, 1 Maruti Zen car and 1 Maruti van, stolen from the areas of PS Hauz Khas, Vikaspur, Pandav Nagar, Metro Station Shastri Park, Sector 10, Gurgaon.
 
 

PROFILE

            Hakimuddin Khan basically hails from district Bulandshahar U.P., who is living in Delhi in the area of North Ghonda.  Initially he started business of scrap dealer; later on he came in contact with one Dilawar, a infamous auto lifter, who insisted him to indulge in the crime of auto lifting by managing papers of condemned vehicles through insurance agencies.  He was previously arrested in 5-6 cases of auto lifting by Delhi Police and Ghaziabad Police. 
 
            Mohd. Azam @ Kallu was known to brothers of Dilawar namely Sanjeev @ Ganja and Shekher etc., all are infamous auto lifters, who were earlier been arrested several times in auto lifting cases.  Later through Dilawar he came in contact with Hakimuddin and involved in auto lifting crime. He was also arrested several times by Delhi Police, NOIDA Police and Ghaziabad Police.  His other involvements are being verified.
 
            Khalil Ahmed is basically resident of Meerut where he was working as motor mechanic.  Later he came in contact of Hakimuddin through the scrap dealers of Soti Ganj, Meerut and involved in getting change the engine and chassis numbers of stolen vehicles, as and when called by Hakimuddin Khan.  He was not found arrested earlier.
 
            More recoveries are likely to affect in this case.

5 DACOITS ARRESTED :  LOOT IN A TOLL TAX COLLECTION CENTRE FOILED.
 

INTRODUCTION

            With the arrest of 5 persons namely I) Ram Dulare, aged 40 years s/o Chottey Lal, r/o Village Jasola, Delhi, ii) Shahid, aged 20 years, r/o District Baghpat, U.P., iii) Shah Azam @ Shazan s/o Islamuddin r/o Anbul Fazal Enclave, New Delhi, iv) Firoz @ Master, aged 30 years, s/o Rafiq Shah, r/o village Jasola, New Delhi and v) Vinod Kumar, aged 26 years s/o Raghuvanshi r/o Village Jasola, New Delhi, the South District Police has busted a gang of dacoits and foiled an attempt to commit dacoity in a house in Sainik Farms, Delhi.  The Police team also recovered 30 empty containers of transformers and other internal components, two spring actuated knives, two iron pipes, one screw driver, one tool set with various kinds and sizes of tools for opening transformers. 
 

INCIDENT & TEAM

            On the late evening of 9.2.08, a secret information was received in the Police Station Jamia Nagar that 5 armed dacoits, who are also involved in number of criminal cases, would assemble near Thokar No. 9, near Kalindi Kunj Park, Shahin Bagh with the intention to loot cash from the toll tax booth situated at NOIDA-Kalandi border.  Seeing the gravity of the information immediately a Police team consisting of SI Sandeep Ghai, HCs Kaptan Singh, Kurban Ali, Mange Ram, Cts. Brij Pal, Krishen Pal, Asok Tyagi, Riyaz Sheikh, Subhash Bansal led by Inspr. Mohd. Iqbal, SHO/Jamia Nagar was formed under the close supervision of ACP/Sarita Vihar. The Police team laid a trap at the above said place  and apprehended above mentioned 5 accused persons.  On their personal search 2 button actuated knives were recovered one each from the possession of Ram Dulare andShahid.  2 iron rods one each from Firoz and Vinod Kumar, one tool set  from the possession of Shah Azam @ Shazan.  Accordingly they were arrested for assembling and planning to commit a dacoity and under Arms Act.
 

INTERROGATION

            On their sustained interrogation it was revealed that Ram Dulare is the gang leader and found involved in two cases of theft, Shah Azam @ Shazan is also found involved in 6 cases of auto lifting, theft robbery and Arms Act.  Firoz is also found involved in two cases of Excise Act.  On their further interrogation they disclosed that they all are also involved in theft of electric transformers.  They further disclosed that they used to steal the electric transformers in the night and after stealing it they used to sell its internal components.  The cost of one such complete electric transfomer is about Rs. 2 lacs.  On their instance police team recovered 30 such electric transforers, which they have hide in a nearby ‘nala’  on the border of Shahin Bagh and Abul Fazal Enclave.

On  4.2.2008 Sh. Navneet Bhardwaj S/O Sh. Sita Ram R/O 342/5, Durgapuri Extn., Delhi alongwith his friend Naveet Sharma were coming from Ramprastha in a Maruti Zen bearing No. DL-6C-F-0451. He stopped his car opposite Petrol pump on road no. 56 and were waiting for one Ajay who is working with him. He was sitting on the driving seat and his friend was sitting beside him in the car. In the meantime at about 7.30 P.M 4/5 boys aged about 20/25 years came there and one of them asked him to come out of the car, after opening of the door. When he came out of the car the said boy attacked on his face with his head and other boys also started scuffling with his friend Navneet Sharma. One of them stabbed him on his back and two ring gold, Rs. 5000/- cash, one mobile phone Nokia 6600 and one mobile phone Nokia N-72, of his friend, one purse containing Rs. 8000/- cash, driving license, Pan Card, Credit Card, one ATM debit Card, 1 Signed Cheque etc. were robbed and fled away from the spot. In this connection a case vide FIR No. 26 dated 4.2.2008 U/S394/397/34 IPC was registered at P.S Vivek Vihar, Delhi and investigation was taken up by ASI Pritam Singh.
 
During the course of investigation a team under the close supervision of ACP/Vivek Vihar Sh. Kapoor Singh & Inspr. Raghubir Parsad SHO, Vivek Vihar was constituted. The team headed by Sh. Sandeep Gupta Inspr. Investigation, Vivek Vihar made best efforts as a result the accused persons namely Madan S/O Balwant Singh R/O Village Nandgram, Viklang colony, Ghaziabad U.P and Boby @ Ashu S/O Mithai Lal R/O H.No. 500/27, Gali No. 10, Bhikam Singh Colony, Anand Vihar, Delhi have been arrested in this case. During interrogation, the accused persons also disclosed the name of his associates as Sunil & Mohammad who were involved in this case. Efforts are afoot to arrest the remaining accused.

Pick pockets arrested:- Chandni Chowk police arrested three women while they were fleeing after picking the pocked of one Sukhmal Jain R/O Baradari yesterday afternoon. According to DCP North office, victim was walking towards Chandni Chowk from Khari Baoli when Rs 3150 were picked from his pocket at Gali Peepal wali by Asha 34 yrs, Alka 40 yrs, Sangeeta 21 yrs all vagabonds of Mathura. Accused tried to escape after the incident but were nabbed by alert policemen present in the area who rushed to the spot after hearing the alarm raised by the victim.

INCIDENT
On 03.02.08, Sharif Ahmed r/o Rani Garden Delhi reported missing of his 19 year old son Riyazuddin at PS Geeta Colony. Later he suspected that his son might have been abducted. A case vide FIR No. 26/08 u/s 365 IPC was registered  at PS Geeta Colony and investigation taken up. A ransom call was received by the complainant on 04.02.08. The caller demanded Rs. 5 ½  Lac for release of his son. He also threatened to kill the boy if the matter is reported to the police.
 
INVESTIGATION
Special teams led by Inspr. Niyam Pal Singh (SHO/Geeta Colony), Inspr. Rajender Adhikari (SHO/Krishna Nagar), Inspr. N.S. Minhas (SHO/Gandhi Nagar),  Inspr. Sunil Srivastava (PS Krishna Nagar), Inspr. Jaipal Singh (PS Gandhi Nagar), Inspr. Jagdish Prasad ( AATS/East),  SI Rajiv Kumar (I/C PP Old Seelam Pur) and SI Vinay Yadav (Spl. Staff/East) were constituted under the supervision of Sh. Rajender Sagar (ACP/Gandhi Nagar).  Investigation revealed that the ransom calls are being made from different areas near Bhangel, Greater Noida.  Deal was made with the caller and the ransom amount fixed for Rs. 5 lac. The meantime two teams went to Bhangel and started combing operation incognito.  The kidnapper was persuaded to receive the ransom amount and release the boy. The kidnapper was apprehensive and he told the complainant that he will intimate the place of receiving the amount only half and hour prior to the fixed time. He again warned against informing the police. On 08.02.08 in the evening he called the father of the abducted boy and asked him to bring the amount at the road opposite Akshardham Temple. The police cordoned the area and one team followed the complainant in plain clothes and apprehended the kidnapper while he was taking the ransom amount. He was identified Abdul Kalam Azad @ Kalam. Kalam resided as tenant in the house of the abducted boy two years back. Later the abducted boy, Riyazuddin was rescued from rented house of the accused in Bhangel. The other accused Aziz fled before police party reached there. 
 
INTERROGATION
On interrogation accused Abdul Kalam Azad revealed that he was living as a tenant in the house of abducted boy 2 years back and then he shifted other place he got involved in a criminal case (also kidnapping for ransom case) and was arrested. After getting bail he went back to his native place village Jibramer Kuthi, Putimari, Phuleshwari, PS Kotwali, Kooch Bihar, West Bengal. He had no job. On 08.01.08 he came to Delhi to attend the court date. An idea struck him and he decided to kidnap his ex-landlord’s son for ransom. He went to Bhangel and shared his plan with Aziz who was staying with him in a rented room. He went to the house of Riyazuddin and lured him of a decent job in Noida. On 03.02.08 he took Riyazuddin to Bhangel and administered him sleeping pills. The abducted boy was kept on sleeping pills till police recovered him. Kalam used to make ransom calls whereas Aziz kept watch on the abducted boy and kept feeding him sleeping pills. Aziz hails from Burdman (West Bengal) and efforts are continuing to arrest him.     
 
PROFILE
·         Abdul Kalam Azad @ Kalam s/o Hafizuddin r/o village Jibramer Kuthi, Putimari, Phuleshwari, PS Kotwali, Kooch Bihar, West Bengal, age 28 years, 8th pass, economically poor and work as casual labour. He was previously arrested in case FIR no. 57/07 u/s 328/364-A/307/120 B IPC PS Geeta Colony. He kidnapped a 8 year boy for ransom of Rs. 30 Lac and tried to kill him by putting him on railway line after putting him under sedatives.
                                               
The police team worked relentlessly till the abducted boy was rescued unhurt and accused arrested.

INCIDENT
 
                        On 8.2.2008 at 3.00 A.M.  S.I. Bhanu Pratap, HC Bhopal Singh, HC Rajpal, Ct. Deepak and Ct. Ravinder of P.S. Shakarpur were on checking duty at Vikas Marg and were checking the vehicles coming from Laxmi Nagar Main Market by putting barricades.  At about 4.00 A.M.  one silver colour santro car No.DL 8 CL-3305 came from I.T.O. side.  When the staff gave a signal to the car driver to stop the vehicle, the driver tried to escape by zigzag driving.  HC Rajpal immediately put barricade in front of the car thereby compelled the driver to stop the car.  On checking cartoons of illicit liquor were found placed in the car.

                        A case vide FIR No.78 u/s 61/1/14 Excise Act has been registered at P.S. Shakarpur and both the above named accused persons have been arrested.

ROBBERY IN THE AREA OF OKHLA SUBZI MANDI FOILED INTRODUCTION With the arrest of 5 persons namely (i) Vinod aged 24 years s/o Phule Ram r/o Gautam Puri, New Delhi; (ii) Nikhil Bhadro aged 21 years s/o Mithai Lal r/o Kalkaji, New Delhi; (iii) Iftiquar aged 20 years s/o Ibrahim r/o Turkman Gate, Delhi; (iv) Jamal Ahmed aged 19 years s/o Bashir Ahmed r/o Badarpur, Delhi; and (v) Ravi aged 21 years s/o Prem Singh r/o Kalkaji, New Delhi, the South District Police has busted a gang of dacoits and foiled an attempt to commit dacoity in Okhla Subzi Mandi, New Delhi. The Police team also recovered 2 button actuated knives and one iron rod from their possession. INCIDENT & TEAM On the late evening of 15.01.2008, a secret information was received in the Police Station Amar Colony that 5 armed dacoits, who are also involved in number of criminal cases, would assemble near Astha Kunj with the intention to commit a dacoity in the area. Seeing the gravity of the information immediately a Police team consisting of SI Pramod and others under the leadership of Inspr. Satpal Gupta, SHO/Amar Colony was formed under the close supervision of Sh. B.L. Suresh, ACP/Lajpat Nagar. The Police team laid a trap at Astha Kunj and apprehended above mentioned 5 accused persons on 15.01.2008 at about 10.30 p.m. On their personal search, 2 button actuated knives and one iron rod were recovered from their possession. Accordingly, they were arrested for assembling and planning to commit a dacoity and under Arms Act. INTERROGATION & PROFILE On their sustained interrogation it was revealed that all the accused were planning to rob a wholesale agent of Okhla Subzi Mandi. They further disclosed their involvement in several cases of snatching, burglary, thefts, mobile snatching, arms act, rape, etc. in various parts of Delhi. Vinod, leader of the gang, is a Bad Character of Police Station Badarpur. He has previously been involved in more than a dozen cases. He jumped ‘bail’ in a rape case and was running absent. Nikhil has previously been involved in a theft case of PS Greater Kailash and two cases of Arms Act of PS Lajpat Nagar. Iftiquar has previously been involved in a theft case of PS Connaught Place and case of Arms Act of PS Chandni Mahal. Jamal and Ravi are also involved in several cases of mobile snatching and thefts. They all belong to lower strata of society and to earn fast and easy money they all started committing crimes. Further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to ascertain their other involvements and to effect recoveries.

DREADED GANG OF CRIMINALS INVOLVED IN ABOUT 70 DRUGGING CASES OF DELHI, HARYANA, UP, UTTRAKHAND, PUNJAB, MAHARASHTRA ETC HELD. THREE JEWELLARS ALSO BOOKED FOR RECEIVING STOLEN ORNAMENTS. Crime Branch of Delhi Police has apprehended a dreaded gang of criminals who had looted several affluent businessmen by giving those drugs in drinks and eatables. With their arrest more than 70 sensational cases of drugging in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Nepal etc. and other parts of the country have been solved. 23 mobile phones, cash Rs 16000/-, credit/ATM cards, huge quantity of drug sedative tablets, fake Identity proofs, fake number plates, 4 cars and other articles have been recovered from their possession. The details of the arrested persons are:- 1. Manish Soni aged 36 years s/o Om Prakash r/o Delhi, 2. Sachin Gandhi aged 28 years s/o Madan Lal Gandhi r/o Karnal, HR. 3. Avinder aged 45 years s/o Manjeet Singh r/o Karnal, Haryana. Three Gold Smith/jewellers have also been arrested being the receiver of stolen gold ornaments. The details of the arrested persons are 1. Vijay Kohli aged 54 years s/o Harbans Lal r/o 52/41 Ramjas Road Karol Bagh of New Jhelam Jewellers, Gurudwara Road Karol Bagh, 2. Sumesh Dua aged 33 years s/o Ramesh Dua r/o 6 Kohat Enclave Pitam Pura of Maharani Jewellers Gurudwara Road Karol Bagh and 3. Manish Aggrawal aged 30 years s/o Mahesh Chand Aggrawal r/o 142 Bhagwan Nagar, Ashram of Aggrawal Jewellars in Ashram, Bhogal Identification of Gang It was found that a large number of cases of taking away of valuables/cash after sedation were being reported. The incidents were analyzed and it was found that there incidents were probably being done by one gang only. In order to nab the gang, a team consisting of Insp. Raj Pal Dabas, Insp. Arvind Kumar, Insp. Ved Prakash and other police staff of SOS, Crime Branch was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Rajbir Singh, ACP/SOS/Crime Branch. Various teams were formed, victims were examined, secret watches were kept over various suspected persons and raids were conducted. On 01.01.08 on the basis of a secret information, about the movement of above mentioned gang with intent to flee to Nepal, a trap was laid and mastermind was apprehended by area of Tilak Nagar who was identified as Manish Soni s/o Om Prakash aged 36 years r/o 77/48 Prem nagar Janakpuri near Metro Station Tilak Nagar. He was subjected to sustained interrogation and upon his tip; another two members of the gang were apprehended from Alipur border. All the three had planned to flee to Nepal sensing the police pressure. All the three accused persons were arrested in case vide FIR No. 273/07 u/s 379/328/34 IPC PS Rajender Nagar and subjected to intensive interrogation. Interrogation After sustained interrogation, it was found that these persons after making friends with innocent people on one pretext or other, gave them eatables and beverages laced with sedative drugs. After consuming such eatables, victim used to fell unconscious and then these accused persons took cash, mobile phones, credit cards, ATM Cards, laptops, Jewellary, vehicles and all other articles belongs to these innocent people Accused persons after getting credit cards and ATM Card, withdrew cash, purchased valuable items from these cards. They used to use a very high dosage so that even if the victim consumed half of the offered drink, he used to become unconscious. These accused persons used to travel in flights, luxury vehicles and upper classes of trains. Their targets included businessmen like interior decorators, watch dealers, furniture dealers, financers, transporters, mobile shop owners, owner of amusement parks etc. The other victims includes NRI, couples, Train passengers, Air passengers, Highway passengers, Bus Passengers, Truck drivers, Taxi Drivers, TSR drivers, businessmen, Chat vendor, senior citizens, call girls and much more and they did not even spare their personal friends. They targeted most of the states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, UP, Uttranchal, Goa, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Whenever they managed to steal more than Rs. 50,000/-, they used to head for Nepal for gambling in casinos. PROFILE Family of Manish Soni and Sachin Gandhi had a history of being indulge in gambling in Goa and Nepal. Sachin Gandhi and Manish Soni initially met each other in the casino of Kathmandu where they had gone for gambling. Both the persons had wealth of lakhs and unfortunately they lost their everything in the gambling and then they started to borrow money for gambling. In March this year, both met again in Goa and both discussed their current situation and planned for future. Taking clue from print and electronic media reports about the modus operandi of Charles Sobhraj and other gangs, they decided to adopt the same modus operandi. Sachin Gandhi belongs to Indri, a small town in Karnal Haryana and managed to procure the sedative drug easily. In April 2007 they hit their first target at a Dhaba in Jabli, Solan, HP on Kalka- Shimla Highway being run by father of Manish Soni. Sedative dung was administered in tea and they took his gold chain, Motorola mobile phone and cash Rs 8000/-. They dumped him on road side near Dhaba and fled to Delhi and disposed off the gold and mobile phone in Karol Bagh. After this they never turned back. Some of the important crimes committed by them are as under : 1. PP Singh r/o Old Rajinder Nagar Delhi, a senior citizen was offered a job and was taken for a interview and was given sedative drugs and they took his 73 grams gold jewellery and mobile phone. The mobile phone has been recovered from them. 2. CV Dinesh r/o Arjun nagar SJ Enclave mat them at Airport and they later called him for a business meeting in Connaught Place and gave him as well as his friend, sedative drugs in Chicken and dump him in Mandir Marg area. They took his mobile phone, credit cards, Pan card, RC,, D/L ,cash 3200/- gold weight about 100 Gm. shopped for 32000/- with his cards 3. Madan Mohan Bahl r/o 8/167 Ramesh Nagar owner of National Hotel outer circle C. Place was targeted by them on pretext of catering order and they took Jewellery worth Rs 3 Lac Approx. including gold 150 Grams/ diamond ornaments, Cash Rs 30,000/-. 4. Rajinder Sodhi r/o Uttam Nagar approached on pretext of getting DL from authority, given juice & D/L, 3 credit card, Pen card and watch taken. 5. Vivek Chandela r/o Khayala taken for interior order from Dwarka, given juice and Gold chain, one mobile phone, cash 10,000/-, credit card from which he purchased 4 mobile phones. 6. Narender Gogna r/o Hari nagar, a shopkeeper approached and his 80 watches, one gold chain, ring, cash 4500/- taken and giving him sedatives and dumping him in area of Mandir Marg. 7. Parminder Singh Kohli of Kohli furniture Hari Nagar was approached by the gang on pretext of getting furniture. They took him to the area of Delhi Cantt and there he was given sedatives in Juice and the accused took away his gold Kada, gold chain, 2 gold rings and Rs 18,000/- 8. They called a call girl in Hotel Kamal who was wearing gold about 120 grams, was given sedatives and they took her gold 120 grams and cash Rs 13000/- she was having and they fled away. 9. Around 5/6 months back, they took one Del Laptop from Deepak Bhardwaj r/o Panchkula in Toyota Innova from near PS Gharonda, Karnal and sold for Rs. 14000 in Gaffar Market. 10. Surender Pal @ Titu r/o south Anarkali, Delhi was given lift from Zirakpur Punjab and they gave him drinks having sedative and dumped him near Haryana Border and then trio took his bag containing Cash Rs. 2.5 lac, gold kada, ring, reliance phone and personal cash rs. 12000. They dumped that sikh near Shyamgarh, Ambala Haryana. 11. Sachin Garg and Harit Sood of Ladwa Haryana were standing at Pipli when they approached him and gave lift in stolen Indica and they gave tea with sedative and took away 3 mobile phones cash 9600/- gold chain ATM cards. 12. Around 1 month back both gave lift to one Neelambar Khullar of Jammu near Ambala for Ludhiana in Manish’s Alto car. They gave him contaminated tea and took his cash rs. 49000/-, one chain and two rings and got down Neelambar near Govind Garh Mandi and returned back to Delhi. 13. Around 2 months back, Manish and Sachin gave lift to one couple in their Alto Car near Kalka headed towards Panipat. They gave them tea near Jhirakpur, and got down them near Ladwa Petrol Pump and took their chain, luggage, ring, Cash Rs. 1000 and other goods. 14. Punit Kapoor r/o D 37 Radha Puri Krishna Nagar Delhi was traveling in 2nd AC in Goa Express on 23/9/07 when they gave him and his co passenger Sh Somani r/o Maharastra drink having sedatives and they took mobile phone and cash from both, his Election I card, credit cards and cash/goods worth Rs. 71000/- and later made purchases for 87000/- from card. 15. Around 4/5 month back, they met one NRI Couple inside a 2nd AC compartment in Karntaka Express bound for Bangalore. Both gave them tea laced with larpoz and took their luggage, 1000 ponds, cash 5000, chain, camera, ring and travelers cheque. 16. Around 5 months back, both took a Volvo bus from Dehradun to Delhi and made friendship with one Ambuj Noutiyal and Vijay Aggrawal, both r/o Dehradun and running amusement park. They gave them intoxicated tea at Cheetal Restaurant Khatouli, Mujjaffarnagar, UP and took One Lakh cash, 1 chain, 2 mobiles, Gold jewellary worth Rs. 1 lac, cards. 17. One business of Delhi was given juice in Kathmandu a month back and his gold Jewellary 130 grams and cash Rs 2.5 Lakhs taken. In Total about 13 Cases of Delhi and 60 cases of all other parts of the country have been worked out with their arrest. A wide publicity is being given so that other victims come forward to report the matter. Further investigation is in progress. All the accused persons are in police custody till 16.01.2008.

RACKET INVOLVED IN PIRACY OF EMBROIDERY DESIGNS ON COMPUTER BUSTED : ONE ARRESTED : SOFTWARE / HARDWARE WORTH MORE THAN RS. 17 LACS RECOVERED

With the arrest of Navi Hassan, aged 30 years s/o Allauddin r/o T-506, Chamallian Road, Sadar Bazar, Delhi, North district police has recovered eight softwares worth Rs. 17 Lakhs along with four floppies containing designs produced from the pirated software, five CDs containing pirated software, one laser printer, one scanner, two computers and control panels of two embroidery machines. TEAM AND THE INCIDENT A team consisting of Inspr. Ashok Gera/DIU, Inspr. Ghanshyam / DIU, HC Jai Singh, HC Nain Pal and HC Hans Raj was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Ramesh Kaushik, ACP/DIU / North District, Delhi. On 3-12-2007, a specific information was received at DIU/North District that one Navi Hassan s/o Allauddin r/o T-506, Chamallian Road, Sadar Bazar, Delhi was involved in the business of developing software used for embroidery designing without any authority / permission from its legal owner / copy right holder namely M/s Wings CAD (India) Pvt. Ltd., Y-36, Okhla Industrial area, Phase II, New Delhi. On receipt of this information, a raid was conducted at House No. T-506, Chamallian Road, Sadar Bazar, Delhi and accused above was apprehended. Eight softwares worth Rs. 17 Lakhs along with four floppies containing designs produced from the pirated software, five CDs containing pirated software, one laser printer, one scanner, two computers and control panels of two embroidery machines have been recovered from his possession. On this, a case under Copy Right Act dated 3-12-2007 was registered at P.S. Sadar Bazar, Delhi. INTERROGATION During sustained interrogation, accused person revealed his identity as Navi Hassan s/o Allauddin r/o T-506, Chamallian Road, Sadar Bazar, Delhi. The accused further disclosed that he was working as a supervisor and the name of the owner is Jamal. He further disclosed that they are using the pirated copies of the software for making designs in their embroidery machines without permission from the authorized company having the copy rights in this regard. Further investigation / interrogation is in progress and efforts are being made to nab the absconding accused person Jamal. RECOVERY 1. Eight softwares worth Rs. 17 Lakhs along with four floppies containing designs produced from the pirated software, five CDs containing pirated software, one laser printer, one scanner, two computers and control panels of two embroidery machines have been recovered from his possession. PROFILE 1. Navi Hassan s/o Allauddin r/o T-506, Chamallian Road, Sadar Bazar, Delhi is 30 years old and has studied up to 9th class. He has one brother and one sister.

AUTO LIFTER/THIEF ARRESTED : 
TWO STOLEN MOTORCYCLES AND 38 BLANKETS RECOVERD

            With the arrest of Dev Bahadur, aged 21 years s/o Bhim Bahadur r/o Vagabond Yamuna Bazar, Kashmeri Gate, Delhi – a permanent resident of Village Kolpur, Palganj, Nepal, North District police has solved two cases of M.V. Theft and a case of Blanket Theft. Two motorcycles (Bajaj Pulsar & Hero Honda Passion) and 38 blankets have been recovered from his possession.
  

TEAM AND THE INCIDENT

            A team consisting of Inspr. Arun Kumar, SHO/Kashmeri Gate, Inspr. (L & O) Dinesh Kumar, Inspr. (Inv.) Mahavir Singh, SI Yashpal Singh, IC/PP ISBT, ASI Bhag Singh and Ct. Munnawar Khan was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Sohanvir Singh,  ACP/Sadar Bazar/North District, Delhi.

            On 13.12.07, at about 8 p.m., a secret information was received by ASI Bhag Singh of PS Kashmeri Gate that one Nepali boy would come on a stolen Hero Honda Passion motorcycle to Ritz Cinema for watching the night show movie. On receipt of this information, a trap was laid at Ritz Cinema immediately. At about 8:50 p.m., one Nepali boy on a Hero Honda Passion motorcycle No. DL 4S-AE 2951 came to the parking of Ritz Cinema and on the pointing out of the informer; he was apprehended by the police party.  He was asked to produce the documents of the motocycle but he could neither produce any documents of the motorcycle nor give any satisfactory reply. On verification, it was found that the motorcycle was stolen from the area of P.S. Rajauri Garden, Delhi. A case of recovery of stolen motorcycle was registered at P.S. Kashmeri Gate, Delhi. 

INTERROGATION

            On sustained interrogation, the accused persons revealed his identity as Dev Bahadur s/o Bhim Bahadur r/o Vagabond Yamuna Bazar, Kashmeri Gate, Delhi – and told that he is a permanent resident of Village Kolpur, Palganj, Nepal. He had come to Delhi to earn his livelihood but even after working hard for long hours, he could not earn much and hence in order to earn quick money, he started committing M.V. Thefts.  This motorcycle had been stolen by him from Raja Garden Metro Station. Further he also disclosed about the theft of a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle from Hanuman Mandir Kashmeri Gate in the month of January 2007. The said motorcycle has also been recovered. Apart from that, he also confessed about theft of 239 blankets from a tent at Hanuman Mandir in the month of March. 38 blankets have been recovered from his possession.
             
            Further investigation / interrogation is in progress and more recoveries are likely.

    FIVE BURGLARS INCLUDING THREE JUVENILES ARRESTED:
    STOLEN SILVER ARTICLES RECOVERED

    Ujbinder, aged 20 years s/o Ram Chander r/o Gali No 2, Village Jharoda Majra, Delhi, Sonu, aged 18 years s/o Hari r/o Gali No 9, Yadav Chowk, Jharoda Majra, Delhi alongwith three juveniles were arrested by the team of ASI Ram Niwas, Ct. HC Manwar and Ct. Sant Ram of P.S. Timarpur from the area of PP Jharoda, Delhi, while they were in possession of stolen jewellery articles.

                On 13-12-2007, one Sh. Kumar had reported that someone broke open the locks of his shop and commityted theft of gold plated silver articles and on the basis of the same a case of night burglary was registered at PS Timarpur.  The ionvestigation of the same was taken up and various sources were deployed.  The accused above were arrested while in possession of the stolen articles.  The house breaking implement (an iron rod) has also been recovered from their possession. 
                On verification, it was learnt that Ujbinder is a rickshaw puller whereas Sonu is unemployed and the three juveniles are school dropouts.  Further investigation/interrogation is in progress.  It is expected that several burglaries in Timarpur, Jharoda and Burari area will be worked out with their arrests.

    RACKET INVOLVED IN MANUFACTURING AND SALE OF PAINT BRUSHES MADE FROM MONGOOSE HAIR BUSTED : 751 BRUSHES WORTH RS. 2.5 LACS RECOVERED

    With the arrest of Ram Baksh Matta, aged 65 years s/o Late Sh Ladha Ram Matta r/o 6/2, Roop Nagar Delhi and Ram Saroop Arora, aged 65 years s/o Sh L.C. Arora r/o E-15/B, Vijay Nagar Delhi, North District police has busted a racket involved in manufacturing and sale of paint brushes made from mongoose hair.

    TEAM AND THE INCIDENT

    A team consisting of Inspr Ashok Tyagi, SHO/Sarai Rohilla, Inspr (L & O) Arti Sharma, SI Raj Kumar, Ct. Adesh, Ct.Tarsem, Ct. Ved Pal, Ct. Sompal and Ct. Rajesh was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Mohd. Ali, ACP/Subzi Mandi.

                On 13.12.07, a specific information was received that illegal trade of manufacturing and sale of the paint brushes made from the mongoose hair is being carried out in the area of Shastri Nagar.  On this information and at the pointing out of the informer, a raid was conducted at a shop running in the name and style of M/s Matta Paint and Hardware, Shastri Nagar, Delhi from where 360 brushes of different size and colour worth Rs. 1.10 Lacs (made from the mongoose hair as confirmed by the expert from Wild Life Department) were recovered.  Accordingly, a case under Wild Life Protection Act was registered at PS Sarai Rohilla and the owner Ram Baksh Matta above was arrested.
     
    INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION

    On sustained interrogation, accused Ram Baksh Matta revealed that he had been receiving these brushes from a factory situated at Kingsway Camp and further at his instance, a raid was conducted at 102, back side of Mall Road, Kingsway Camp, Delhi from where 391 brushes of different size and colour worth Rs. 1.40 Lacs (made from the mongoose hair as confirmed by the expert from Wild Life Department) were recovered.  Hence, the owner of the factory Ram Saroop Arora was also arrested in this case.

                Further investigation / interrogation is in progress.

    1.         Ram BakshMatta s/o Late Sh Ladha Ram Matta r/o 6/2, Roop Nagar Delhi, is 65 years old.  He is educated upto primary level.  He is running a shop in the name and style of Matta Paints & Hardware for last 10 years at Shastri Nagar.  He had been procuring these paint brushes from Ram Saroop Arora for the last 8 years.

    2.         Ram Saroop Arora s/o Sh L.C. Arora r/o E-15/B, Vijay Nagar Delhi is 65 years old.  He is educated upto middle level.  He is running a business of manufacturing of paint brushes from mangoose hair for the last 30 years.  He was authorised for manufacturing of above brushes by the Govt. and in the year 2003, his authorisation was cancelled by the Govt.  Even after that he continued with this trade.

    Father of Gurgaon shootout accused denies owning gun

    Azad Yadav, on the run since Tuesday when his son allegedly shot dead his classmate Abhishek Tyagi at a school in Gurgaon, has denied owning the gun that was used in the crime even as police urged the media to help nab him.

    Yadav told a private news channel on Friday that the .32 bore US-make revolver belonged to a state official.

    The Gurgaon police on Thursday included his name in the first information report (FIR) for handling the firearms casually and negligently. The offence carries a maximum of three-year prison sentence.

    However, Gurgaon Police Commissioner Mahender Lal told IANS that they did not know who was the owner of the gun.

    School shootout leaves Gurgaon horrorstruck

    It's a parent's worst nightmare come true. A class 8 student at the Euro International School in Guragon, on the outskirts of Delhi, was shot dead by two of his classmates after school hours on Tuesday.

    Abhishek Tyagi was found dead in his school corridor with 3 bullets in his body.

    At 2 pm (IST), a bus driver heard gunshots and raced to find a 13-year-old he often brought to school, lying in a pool of blood.

    Abhishek Tyagi, a class 8 student, was shot five times at close range over a disagreement. The two accused allegedly took turns shooting him with the same gun.

    One of the students reportedly smuggled the weapon into the school by hiding it in his socks. They hid it in the school toilet before using it on Abhishek. Both the accused have been arrested by the Police.

    The Police Commissioner of Gurgaon described what led to the shooting.

    ''Akash Yadav took his father's revolver, hid it and carried it to school. He then put it in the school bathroom. In the evening when everyone left he fired at Abhishek. He fired four rounds and then he gave the pistol to his friend. He too fired a bullet.

    lawyer manipulated my statement: Key Nithari witness

    Ghaziabad, Nov 17: Nand Lal, father of Payal, a victim of Nithari serial killings, today charged his lawyer Khalid Khan with having `manipulated` his statement given against Maninder Singh Pandher to a CBI court in July this year.

    "My advocate mounted pressure on me to speak a lie", Nand Lal said.

    Giving a new twist to the Nithari serial killings case Nand Lal retreated from his original statement against Maninder Singh Pandher in a CBI court recently withdrawing all charges against him.

    Describing withdrawal of charges by him against Pandher in court as his `correct` statement Nand Lal said he had changed his lawyer.

    Nand Lal`s advocate Khalid Khan, however, said that after the murder of Jatin Sarkar, father of Pinki Sarkar, another Nithari victim, a sense of terror prevails in the mind of kin of Nithari victims.

    "Nand Lal retreated from his statement in court to save his life as he has no security and the hands of the accused persons seem stronger", he said.

    He said due to pressure from accused persons more witnesses were likely to turn hostile in the case.

    SENSATIONAL MURDER CASE SOLVED WITHIN 72 HOURS.

    With the arrest of Sonu S/o Dinesh R/o Kusumpur Pahari, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, aged 20 years a murder case has been solved within 72 hours under the supervision of ACP/Delhi Cantt. and investigation officer Inspr. Ganga Ram Solanki of PS Vasant Kunj.

    On 30th October, 2007, a missing report was lodged in Police Station Vasant Kunj regarding missing of a boy namely Deepak (Age-8 years) S/o Dinesh R/o Kusumpur Pahari, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. At around 10.00 PM, on the same date, the dead body of the missing boy having head injury and a stone having blood stains on its surface was found in the ridge/jungle area of Kusumpur Pahari (Lal Khet, Jungle). The body was later identified by the father of victim Sh. Dinesh. A case vide FIR No. 766/07 dt. 31/10/07 U/S 302 IPC, was registered at PS Vasant Kunj. Accordingly the investigation was commenced and all the persons related to the incident were interrogated.

    After sustained interrogation Sonu (Age-20 years) S/o Dinesh confessed to this crime and disclosed that after his marriage 5 months back, he was not given due care and affection by the other family members. He started feeling lonely & dejected. This increased his frustration and he decided to get rid of Deepak (younger brother). In order to vent his frustration he made several attempts to kill him by luring Deepak to the jungle few times prior to this incident. On the fateful day i.e. 30/10/07, he lured his younger brother Deepak to the Jungle at around 8.00 AM on the pretext of searching for ‘Ber’. At a secluded place he picked up a stone lying nearby and hit him twice on his head from behind, which resulted in the instantaneous death of his brother. Thereafter he ran away leaving his brother dead on the spot. After that he joined his duty in a school at Vasant Vihar without telling anyone. In the evening, he pretended to have accidentally found his brother’s body in the
    jungle while searching for him.

    One Held with 695 kg illegal firecrackers:- With the arrest of one person, Operation Cell, North District recovered 695 kg of illegal firecrackers stored. According to DCP North District Office, on a tip off, shop of Puneet Ghosh, 36 years, R/o Dev Nagar, Delhi was raided and 695 kg firecrackers which he had additionally stocked were recovered. He had the license to stock up to 250 kg of firecrackers.

    One Thief arrested:- Chandni Chowk Police arrested one woman, Krishna, 32 years, R/o Kasturba Nagar on the charges of theft yesterday. According to DCP North District Office, She was nabbed red handed when she was fleeing after stealing four sarees from a shop at Nai Sarak.

    One Burglar arrested:- Kashmere Gate Police arrested one person on the charges of attempted burglary yesterday night. According to DCP North District Office, the accused, Jagdish, 30 years, originally from Champaran, Bihar when was breaking locks of a shop at Auto Market, Kashmere Gate, was arrested by the patrolling staff.     aged 20 years s/o Jagdish Prasad r/o H.No. A-33, Gali No.8, Mandoli Ext., Delhi, North East District police has solved a case of kidnapping for ransom-cum-murder.
    TEAM & INCIDENT A team consisting of.Inspr. Satish Kumar, SHO/Nand Nagri, SI Ajay Negi, HC Ravinder, Ct. Manoj, Ct. Chander Bhan and Ct.
    Vijay was constituted under the supervision of Shri Irshad Haider, ACP/Seema Puri.

    On 12.10.07, one Lalit Kumar s/o Tejpal Singh r/o H.No. 117-A, Gali No.4, Mandoli Ext., Delhi reported that on 05.10.07 at 7 PM, his brother Rattan Lal @ Monu aged 20 years had received a call on his mobile phone and gone outside without informing
    anybody but did not return. On the very next day at 7:30, a call was received on his father’s mobile phone made from a PCO that Monu had been kidnapped and a ransom of Rs.6 lacs was demanded in lieu of his release. On 8.10.07 at about 8 PM, another call made from the mobile phone of Monu, was received and a ransom of
    Rs.8 lacs was demanded instead of Rs.6 lacs and it was also threatened by the callers that if police was informed, they would kill Monu. Since then, they did not receive any call in this regard. Subsequently, a case of kidnapping for ransom was
    registered at P.S. Nand Nagri and investigation was taken up.
    INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION
    During investigation, it was revealed that the first ransom call had been made from a PCO situated near E-5 Block, Nand Nagri and the second ransom call was made from the mobile phone of kidnapped boy Monu but no clue could be ascertained. Later, on 26.10.07, another ransom call was received from the mobile phone of Monu and complainant’s father was called at Bank Colony bus stop to deliver the ransom amount but the callers did not come. Subsequently, the callers again made ransom calls from the mobile phone of Monu on different times and the family members of the victim were called at different places but he never came. In the meantime, police team consisting of
    above mentioned police officers continued their efforts to get any clue in this case. The police team also visited the neighbouring police stations of U.P. and on 01.11.07, it was learnt that on 06.10.07, a dead body of a young boy aged about 20 years was found near Gadda Gagan Vihar, UP but it
    could not be identified so far. When the photographs and clothes of the deadbody
    were shown to the family members of the kidnapped boy, they identified them as of
    Monu. The family members were taken into confidence not to disclose this fact as there were possibilities of more ransom calls.
    On 02.11.07 at about 6:30 PM, another ransom call of Rs. 6 lacs was received from mobile phone of Monu and the family members were directed to bring six bundles of Rs.1000/- at Seva Dham Road, Near Safeda trees. The police team laid a trap and
    in a short while, two boys came there to get the delivery of ransom amount from family members but both were apprehended by the police team.

    The identity of both the boys was revealed as Rakesh and Arun Kumar. On sustained interrogation, they disclosed that they were having friendly terms with Monu and about 8-10 days of this kidnapping, Monu informed that his father had sold a plot at Trilok Puri for Rs.6 lacs. So, they became greedy and made a plan to get this
    amount by kidnapping Monu. On 5.10.07, they took Monu on the pretext of selling his mobile phone in a Maruti Van but they could not arrange any suitable place where they could keep Monu safely, so they eliminate him by strangulation and after his death, they threw his dead body in Gagan Vihar Gadda, UP.
    They further disclosed that they took the mobile phone and sim card of Monu in their possession and continued making ransom calls from this sim card. They made several ransom calls and called the family member of deceased at different crowded
    place to keep a watch on their activities. At last, when they got confirmed that police has not been included in this episode, they called the family members at a lonely place but at the time of getting delivery of ransom money, they were apprehended by the police party.
    RECOVERY

    1. Mobile phone of the deceased (Monu)
    2. Sim card of Monu along with mobile set from which
    ransom calls were made.

    unmarried and having three brothers in the family. He works as a driver in a Tour & Travels shop at Mandoli Ext.

    (2) Arun Kumar s/o Jagdish Prasad r/o H.No. A-33, Gali No.8, Mandoli Ext., Delhi is 20 years old. He has studied upto 5th standard. He is unmarried and having three brothers in the family. He earns his livelihood by stiching bags in Nand Nagri.

    Delhi; (2) Bhagwan Dass s/o Ram Awadh r/o H.No. B-2/1, Prakash Vihar, Karawal Nagar, Delhi; (3) Johrool Sheikh s/o Mukhtiyar Sheikh r/o C-634, J.J. Colony, Bawana, Delhi; (4) Hasmat s/o Nurul Hudamulla r/o E-181, J.J. Colony, Bawana, Delhi; (5) Aryender Kumar s/o Siyaram Singh r/o 125/3, Shakti Vihar, Dayal Pur, Delhi and (6) Rahis Miyan s/o Rasool Ahmed r/o V-556, Mandir Gali, 2nd Pushta, New Usman Pur, Delhi. Satta amount Rs.13,800/-, ten slips and five pens were
    recovered from their possession.
    2. Acting upon a secret information, a police team of P.S. New Usman Pur (North East District) including ASI Ram Kishor, Ct. Rajesh and Ct. Nand Kishor has busted a satta racket running at Ballu Ki Tubewell, Gautam Vihar, Delhi and arrested three accused persons namely (1) Ram Babu s/o Laxmi Narain; (2) Bablu c/o Late Asharfi Lal and (3) Raju c/o Babu Ram all resident of L-212, Gali No.7, Gautam Vihar, Delhi. Satta amount Rs.5260/-, six slips and two ball pens were recovered from their possession.

    AIRLINE E-TICKETING RACKET BUSTED FIVE ARRESTED FOR SWINDLING CRORES

    The Interstate Cell Crime Branch Chanakyapuri Delhi has busted an
    Airline Ticketing Racket. Five persons have been arrested in this
    regard. The gang members have spread their net wide and include
    persons from Assam, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu, Congo Africa and Combodia.
    The arrest has exposed the weaknesses in the ‘Ticketless Travel’ age
    of flying which is being promoted by all the Airline Operators in
    India and across the world.

    The gang used to buy Airline Tickets online on the internet using credit card
    details fraudulently. Most of the credit card details are being procured by the
    gang all the way from Nigeria. International credit cards were used to buy airline tickets online. The gang took cash from the unsuspecting customers promising them cheap tickets. When the airline tried to realize their money from the credit card owners they found out that the cards had been misused. The credit cards preferred by the gang were American Express, Visa Card, Master Cards, Delta Cards, Disc Cards and Switch Cards of Munti National Banks. ICICI cards, SBI Cards, HDFC Cards, ABMAmro, Axis cards were some of the domestic credit cards used by the gang. The arrested persons are:-

    1. Vipin Dahal (27) s/o Sh. M N Dahal r/o Village Dighali Pathar, Gomiripat, Sonitpur, Assam (presently living at A-35, Gautam NAgar New Delhi) – He is educated till the 12th standard. He came to Delhi in 2001 and used to work as a
    Medical Representative with a drug company which shut down in the year 2005. He then met Mustafa at a cyber café in Munirka through a common friend named Samir. Mustafa told him that he could get cheap airline tickets and would pay Vipin commission if he could get customers for him. He met Darshan who was Mustafa’s associate at their office at Mohammedpur, Bhikaji Cama Place. Together they ran the racket of getting airline tickets on the internet using credit card details fraudulently. He parted ways with Mustafa about 6 moths ago because he felt Mustafa cheated him. He started on his own along with Kalendo, Darshan, Bhuwan and Jasbir.

    2. Bhuwan Koirala (28) s/o Dharamraj Koirala r/o Village Tewaripal, Satia, Tejpur, Assam (presently presently living at A-35, Gautam NAgar New Delhi) – He works as an Assistant Manager at a prominent Restaurant in Connaught Place. He shares the room with Vipin Dahal. He has used his position as the Manager of the restaurant to provide Vipin details of credit cards which the customers give him to settle their accounts. He has also procured ‘customers’ for Vipin Dahal. He came to Delhi about 8 years ago and is educated up to the 12th standard.

    3. Kalendo Ngoy @ Alex (29) s/o Bagir Ngoy r/o H No. 12, Bashiro Street, Kendo, Congo, Africa (presently living at 226-B-!, Village Hauz Rani, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi) – He has come to India on a student’s visa in the month of May 2007. Before this he had visited India last year too. He had met Mustafa and Darshan Singh in Combodia in the year 2006. When he came to India he met them in Delhi. In those days Vipin used to work for Mustafa and Darshan Singh. He went back and used his contacts in Nigeria to send credit card details via e mail to Vipin who started his own ticketing business after that. In Delhi he has enrolled at the Aptec Institute for Computer Education at Vasant Vihar Delhi. His e mail inbox was found to contain more than 14,000 credit card details. All the incoming e mails regarding credit card details have come from various e mail IDs located in Nigeria and adjoining countries in Africa. He books tickets with the credit card details he gets from Nigeria. The customers are provided to him by Vipin, Mustafa, Darshan and others.

    4. Darshan Singh (42) s/o Raghubir Singh r/o Village Sihana Sadan, Pehwa, Kurukshetra, Haryana – He is not technologically savvy enough to buy airline tickets online on the internet but he uses his contacts in Haryana and Punjab to get ‘customers’ for the gang. He is educated till the 10th standard. He runs a small electrical goods shop in Sihana Sadan. He first met Mustafa at Bhikaji Cama Place where he had gone to buy airline ticket for Calcutta in October 2006. He first met Vipin at the same office with Mustafa. He bought a ‘discounted’ ticket from Mustafa. After having enjoyed the ‘cheap’ airfare he referred many other ‘customers’ of Haryana. Later on Vipin and Mustafa fell out with each other. Whenever, Vipin wanted tickets he used Darshan as a go between himself and Mustafa. Mustafa ‘SMSed’ the PNR No. and Flight details to Darshan who in turn forwarded the same to Vipin.

    5. Jasbir Singh @ Jassi (32) Sardar Gian Singh r/o RZ-E-5/20, Bengali Colony Mahavir Enclave Dabri New Delhi. (originally resident of Village Ramgarh, Mukeri, Hoshiarpur, Punjab) – He is educated up to the 10th standard. He met Vipin since the past 6 months. They met at Karol Bagh in the house of his uncle. Vipin told him that he could provide cheap tickets and Jasbir bought some tickets for himself to go to Mumbai by Kingfisher Airlines. He was booked for
    forgery and cheating vide case FIR No. 109/07 dated 17/5/07 u/s 420/468/471/120B IPC PS. Tughlak Road. He was arrested in this case along with his uncle Gurdyal Singh and another relative Taranjit Singh. He came out on bail after spending a month in jail. They had applied for visa in the Israeli Embassy for a ‘customer’ and had supplied all fake documents. He has provided numerous ‘customers’ to Vipin for booking airline tickets.


    On 1st November 2007, the Interstate Cell Crime Branch Chankyapuri Delhi received a complaint from Spice Jet and Kingfisher Airlines regarding misuse of credit cards for online ticketing. The complaint was marked to Insp. Jitender. A case was registered vide FIR No. 122/07 u/s 420/120B/34 PS. Palam Airport, New Delhi for the same.

    On 2nd November 2007 Insp. Jitender developed information that Vipin Dahal and Bhuwan Koirala would be coming to the area of Chankyapuri sometime in the evening. A team was quickly constituted led by Insp. Jitender including SI. Anil Malik, ASI. Rishi, ASI. Chiranji, HC. Sanjay, HC. Bijender, HC. Naresh, HC. Veerpal, Ct. Shiv Kumar, Ct. Bed, Ct. Sanjay, Ct. Virender and Ct. Anand.

    Both Vipin and Bhuwan were apprehended near Ashoka Hotel. At their disclosure their other three associates were picked up from their respective houses. On sustained interrogation all five admitted to their involvement in the online ticketing racket. Details from Spice Jet Airlines and King Fisher Airlines show fraud committed by this gang worth Rs. 28 Lakhs and Rs. 22 Lakhs respectively.
    All five accused have been arrested. They shall be produced in Patiala House Court today. Efforts shall be made to get them on police remand. Further investigation in the case is on.
